Rockets discussing T-Mac trade with Knicks, HeatBy Dennis Deitch, DelcoTimes.com : The only teams that are outwardly debating a (Tracy) McGrady trade are the Knicks and the Heat. The Knicks want to pawn off Jared Jeffries, who will cost $7 million next season and whose skinny, 6-11 frame doesn’t really help the Rockets with their center issue. They would like bruiser David Lee in return, and while the Knicks went in the tank for this season a year ago, they aren’t all that anxious to trade one of their two young players with an upside. The Rockets would love to get Jermaine O’Neal from the Heat, who might not be the same player he was in Indiana, but he still has some game, he can play center and has practically the same contract in terms of salary and expiration date as McGrady. That makes him far more appealing for Houston ... but Miami doesn’t get any thrill out of making a 1-for-1 deal like that. At least their expiring contract guy can offer something on the court. So the Heat likely would want a bargain guy like Kyle Lowry coming back. FULL ARTICLE

Roster moves on tap for Raptors? The Toronto Globe and Mail reports that talk in the city has Raptors GM Bryan Colangelo actively looking to make roster changes. The paper cited an anonymous source as saying Colangelo is hoping that interim head coach Jay Triano can get the team playing better, more traditional defense in the meantime. "Jay's system is pretty much what I was used to doing in Indiana," Jermaine O'Neal said. "Boxing out. Pushing the ball baseline to sideline ... it makes it easier for me to block shots and take charge or vice versa for Chris Bosh. For me, it's easy, but for the other guys on the team, it's hard because they've been playing a different way for the last two years." The Toronto Sun added that Colangelo is looking to bolster the Raptors roster in an effort to convince Bosh that the club is committed to winning an NBA title.
